Everyone who made a mark in prayer learned to meet God personally. Hannah encountered God alone on the prayer altar, not even with her husband beside her. Jabez also stood alone before God, (1 Chro. 4:9-10). 


Jacob wrestled with God alone until his destiny was transformed, and in one encounter a man became a nation (Gen. 32:24-28). Likewise, God declared that He called Abraham alone and blessed him. God deals with each individual personally.


Say this to yourself: Father, as I take up the responsibility of prayer afresh from today, by Your mercy, grant me the desires of my heart (mention them specifically), in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
